Currently, Vernell serves as an attorney for the Chicago Department of Aviation, where he leads and manages a broad range of commercial transactions, including vendor agreements and high-stakes negotiations with major international airlines. His role involves advising on complex legal matters related to airport operations, ensuring compliance with international aviation laws, and collaborating with agencies such as the FAA, TSA, and Customs and Border Protection.

In his previous role as Head of Legal and Manager at Earth Club, Vernell oversaw strategic growth initiatives, driving a 200% increase in profitability and significant operational efficiencies. Vernell also has four years of experience with Weil Gotshal & Manges, LLP, representing corporations and alternative entities in all aspects of public and private mergers and acquisitions practice, including: equity and asset sales/acquisitions, mergers, going private transactions, recapitalizations, shareholder and voting arrangements, corporate governance issues, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and change in control agreements.
